Sears GDO: won't open completely

I recently had to readjust the up limit to keep from

binding on the bolt. Worked great a few days. Now it

will not open all the way -- about 8 inches shy. If I

run it down just a bit, then back up, it often goes all

the way up. Have played with the up force (max) and up

limit (no effect).

Could this be old rails binding old trolley wheels

on the door??

Could be something binding. Try releasing the opener and operating the door by hand. Also take a look at the drive gear. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor.
