I wouldn't want to look at a repair in a prominent place. Insist on a replacement. (They probably expect you to do so.)

A good repair will be invisible, or look like a natural vein. It's honestly not a big deal. As long as it's a good repair. Natural materials behave like natural materials and sometimes break. You've got to be willing to accept that. Or else only buy man made materials. Even those can break occasionally.
