Why not go to your local HD or other appliance store with a tape measure and measure the samples?

Not an "awning style," whatever that is, but my 30 inch Kobe is actually 29.75.

AJmadison.com has a great appliance search feature (my local appliance store uses it, the lazy schmoes!). You should be able to do a more precise search for hoods there.

LOL, Fori, several times I've gone to P.C. Richards (NY,NJ,CT chain) and asked about specific models or features and noticed them go straight to AJM site rather than their own, or internal resources. I made a comment about that recently, and the salesman's response was, "We know where our customers are doing their research and it's a great site." (And then they beat the price.)

You could have a cabinet maker build an outer shell and install an insert which would run around 28" wide.

Most 30" hoods are slightly undersize and will probably fit just fine. If not, make it fit - bevel, wedge, squeeze or whatever - you're only talking about a fraction of an inch.
