 o
baseboard heater question

Posted by folkman (My Page) on

I have a cement slab sun porch I am finishing off. I will have baseboard heat and carpet over the cement. My question is how high up should the baseboard heater be off the slab? I know the carpet does not go under the heat but I heard I should raise it like 2 inches before its fixed to the wall and have a filler baseboard strip put under it. Bit I think having the heater raised up will look silly. Any ideas would be helpful!

Actually, the carpet does go under it. If it's electric baseboard, it's simple to raise or lower afterward (it screws to the wall). I'd say about 3/4" to 1" up.

It is designed to sit on the finish flooring. I can think of no reason to raise the unit up.
