Help me avoid using gutters, please

Posted by remodelingchick (My Page) on

Hi,
I have a lot going on here as this has turned into an unexpected full house remodel. One of the problems i have right now is deciding whether or not to use gutters. I'm in Texas, and when we get rain, we get heavy downpours. The problem area is over my front door entryway. Right now the rain hits right up to the door and while i know gutters would solve the problem (we had them up before we began remodeling),i really dont care for the looks of them. Anyone have any ideas as far as maybe extending the roof so the entryway is partially covered? s

Any cover you put up is going to collect rain and dump it at the edge.

Get a section of copper (non-K type) gutter.

No gutters = potential foundation problems. Changing the roof to extend it over the entryway would be possible, but a lot of work and expense to have it look right...and then you would need a gutter somewhere anyway.

How about a custom walkway awning below gutters?
