The one you had was probably from Hall-Mack who made all kinds of recessed things.

The closest one I could find is by a company called Sanliv, but I can't tell whether the flap lies almost flat when there is a roll in it or not. No specs and the different searches all seem to lead to the same page. I can't even tell if it is sold in the US. The "order online" link doesn't seem to work.

I think she is looking for one that is completely recessed with a door or flap over it, with no projection from the wall.

is this what you are searching for?:

Residential TP holders are normally only recessed half way into the wall because the wall is either too shallow or the insulation requirement behind it is too great.

However, fully recessed TP holders are made for boats where flush accessories are essential for safety.

Are you on a boat?

Thanks for all the help but all of the above are only 1/2 recessed. In this house and in my old house the TP holder is on an outside wall so the studs are 6" which
allow the totally recessed holder. (If I can find it.) :-)
