What is your goal? If you want to reduce the sound from below that penetrates the bedroom floor, you should make the ceiling below more resilient. That can be done with a new layer of drywall and green glue but it won't be as effective as "out of date" resilient channels.

If you want to reduce the sound of foot traffic above penetrating the floor, mass loaded vinyl or resilient layers under the finish flooring is effective.

Read the manufacturer's materials and installation instructions for whatever you plan to use.

"Green glue", for example, is meant to be sandwiched between layers of drywall. Used for that, it's pretty effective. In a floor, it would probably be disappointing.

And ... which way is the sound transmission you want to stop?

Assuming it's the sound from below that you want to reduce, another possibility is using sound damping drywall such as Quietrock or National Gypsum Gold Bond.

But don't be surprised that any system you use is not that effective due to flanking sound transmission. I've certainly been disappointed after retrofitting resilient channel and drywall to walls, only to realize there was as much sound coming in from the floor and ceiling.

I did an entire home theater that was soundproof and included green glue as part of the (complex) wall system.

Sound reduction (there is no soundproof :) is a complicated system and you need to clearly outline what your needs are to discuss logically.
