main entry leads into kichen, not living room---problem or not?

we've got an unusual house in many ways, one is that the l-shaped living and dining space has no formal entry. the entire front wall, where an entry shoud be, is taken up by 12ft sliding door which open to a stone patio and arbor in the front yard. there is a path into and out of the patio, but it's clearly an entrance to a garden space, not the official entry place.
there is a real entry, with benchs inside and out, doorbell and obvious front door--and it's closer to the driveway.
one enters the entry way and turns left into laundry, powder room and pantry space, or turns right into the kitchen and enters the living space through the kitchen.
it's always been just fine for us, but recently a real estate agent told me it was strange to not have an entry into the living room from the front of the house.
i do understand that strangers could feel funny passing through the kitchen into the living room, i'm beginning to wonder if i need to reverse my kitchen and entry spaces--which would be a hassle but do-able, since i'm not committed yet to cabinets or countertops. |

| It's only a problem if you see it as a problem. Now, if you are selling or planning on selling, and you have the means and determination, you might consider turning your sliding glass door into a "proper" front door and entryway. |
