Stain New Skim Coat Plaster Walls

I recently had a skim coat of veneer plaster done to my walls. The surface is beautiful to touch, almost feels like stone! I don't want to paint them and be left with a roller/brush texture on the surface. Is there a way to stain/white wash the plaster to: make the white color more uniform (i can see the areas of patching over seams etc).

Stain is just thin paint, and will have the exact same problems of even application ad brush and roller marks, possibly worse.
