kitchen remodle question

We recently bought a 30 year old ranch style home. We love it but are ready to make the kitchen a little bigger and more functional. We have a galley kitchen with a small breakfast area on one end and a small dining room on the other end. We would like to take out the breakfast area and use it for kitchen space and open the wall up between the kitchen and dining room. Our main delima is the BAY WINDOW in the breakfast area. What is the best use of this space? I would like more cabinets and counter space but do we need to take this window out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Do a drawing of your present arrangement and repost this inquiry along with the drawing in the Kitchen forum. The folks over there are really good at helping with just this sort of question.

Check the height of the window from the floor. Can you fit cabinets underneath the window?
