 o
Home Depot quote -- binding?

We obtained a quote from Home Depot for kitchen cabinets. The designer added a rebate to our quote which adjusted the cost of each item. The quote says that it is good for one week. It doesn't have any other restrictions. When we went to the service desk, the cashier said that the rebate has just expired and the cabinets cost $2000 more than we were originally told. This has gone up to the store manager, and they refuse to budge. Just curious -- does that written quote mean anything? Is it binding on the store to sell at that price? Thanks!

Does it have a signature on it from someone in the stores management chain?

If not it is just a scrap of paper.

Their "quote" sounds like an offer that you didn't decide to take up and turn into a contract until the rebate expired.

Might be the best reason to find a couple of cabinet companies and get bids.
