We have added on a 6'x14' part to our kitchen which will abut the DR . The DR was refaced about 10yrs ago with hardiboard when we installed a picture window. It was the 9" variety. Hardiboard says that they no longer make that size available in this area of the country MD and the only suggestion they have is to order it from FL where they still make it but that it will have no guarantee in this area. Their smaller size will not work for the 7.5" overlap that we need.

Although the area is not large, its physical continuation from the DR will not look good with the color matching vinyl siding that the contractor is suggesting. I have searched Internet but seem to follow leads only to find they are vinyl.

Other than doing it all in vinyl (not our preference) does anyone know of other 9" cement board out there?
