You can use a US mail address and forwarding site. The US co. sends product to a US address of the forwarder, which then sends it to you.

I've used these successfully in the past. But since I'm highly-skeptical of all on-line vendors, I have ordered few building materials on-line from anywhere.

The biggest drawback I've found is a ridiculously high broker fee slapped on at the border and which is not mentioned by the vendor. The fee can be a multiple of the duty!

I have ordered a few thousand dollars of product from American Tin Ceilings. Even with shipping and duties they were 15-25% better priced than directly from a factory a hundred miles away from TO.

Ditto for a few thousand dollars worth of Emtek door hardware at a 40% discount from what I'd pay here at a trade discount. (Sorry, I can't remember the name of the co.)
