Can I use this pull on my pocket door ???

Good Morning

We are using pocket doors in our tiny home and I don't think I want to use the traditional type of pocket door finger pull so I was wondering if it is possible to install a cabinet pull vertically on the door (like you would on a upper kitchen cabinet) instead. We do not need the door to go all the way into it's "pocket" if that makes sense - I would be OK with it looking like it was "open" part way - and they do not need to lock. I guess I am concerned that cabinet hardware would not be strong enough to use.

If anyone knows if this is possible that would be great or, if you can recommend a company that sells contemporary, clean lines door pulls for this purpose I would appreciate any help.

Thanking you all

Piaa

oh, here is a link to the type of cabinet pull I like and am considering using if it is OK.

Here is a link that might be useful: Door Pull (if possible)

I googled "recessed door pull" and got some nice-looking ones:

I would be more concerned is my door strong enough, if it is a hollow door I wouldn't but a solid wood door is probably fine. I would put a bumper on the bottom of the door to keep it from being opened too far and the handle hitting the door frame, that would put too much strain on the handle and dent the frame.

piaa-
I have a similar installation with several pocket doors in my house, and I really like the ability to grip the door with the handle. Your pull should work with either a solid core door or a hollow core one (just make sure it is close enough to the edge of the hollow core door so that the bolts go through the frame of the door and not the hollow part). The only issue is that you definitely need a bumper mounted inside the wall so that the door stops before the handle can contact jamb. This would not be easy to do if the doors are already in place. If you do not do this, I guarantee that it is only a matter of time before the handle gets banged into the jamb, which will cause damage to the jamb, and loosen or break the handle if it happens several times.

Thank you so much everyone :)

We are still at the "stud" phase of the remodel and the Johnson Hardware just arrived (we live in the Carribean so everything was shipped via container which we unloaded yesterday) so installing the "bumper" is not a problem

Thanks again for your help
