Bead board appropriate in these rooms?

Hi,

We are doing a 2-story addition which includes a small mudroom and powder leading off the LR on the main floor (you'd have to walk thru the mudroom and past the back door to get to the powder). We have China Doll SW paint on most walls on the main floor with an accent wall in the LR and over the DR mantle in Old Navy BM paint. We have oak floors (natural poly finish) so we were thinking of doing a travertine flooring in the mudroom and powder thinking that might be a nicer transition into those rooms (plus, the brown will help hide dirt!). We have white woodwork throughout the house and plan on doing white built-ins in the mudroom (bench with hooks/cubbies above it). We also have decided on a Memoirs (Kohler) pedestal sink and toilet for the powder (chrome fixtures). Based on all of this, would bead board work in the powder and mudroom or do you think the style is wrong since we are doing travertine (or something similar) as the flooring in those rooms? If we did the bead board, I was thinking we could do navy on the top portion of the walls to carry it over from the accent wall that is adjacent to the opening to these two rooms (in the LR). We have a 1920's house that is similar to an American Foursquare (though it is more of a rectangle now from the front with the addition...)

Please advise on whether or not you think bead board is appropriate for these rooms given our picks of the flooring, fixtures, etc.

Thanks so much!
