I had a strange exhaust fan in the kitchen ceiling that worked but was more like a bathroom vent. We had it disconnected to steal its power source and yesterday I removed the entire unit because we are redoing the kitchen. The vent that was going through the roof is still there (in the attic)with the metal tube coming down but nothing is attached to it at the bottom where the actual electrical venting system should be (name? sorry). Can any experienced people out there tell me if this is going to be a problem? Do I need to have it capped off or anything? Water never came into the actual unit so not sure if it would be a problem for the attic. Hoping not but if so then I need to do something soon. Advice?
