You will need to connect the wiring in the electrical box used to hang the light. I used decorative wire(stranded copper with a clear insulation) to move this light from the original location(on the right) to the location over the dining room table. Forgot the size---14 gauge.

That's exactly what I'm going to do Handymac. If I may, what's the name of the thing that goes over the existing hole to cover it up. Where the wiring in existing.

I think that is called a canopy kit.

I bought the swag kit at Home depot as I recall---which is where we bought the chandelier.

All your connections must be made inside a box, whether the box is incorporated into the chandelier or in the ceiling. This means if the existing wiring isn't long enough, it has to be replaced with one that is.
