I have an 1855 brick farmhouse in the NE US, with no front porch (only deck) or entryway. Photo to follow if helpful. One comes right in the front door and there is no space to put coats, etc. - only a narrow hallway, LR, and stairs right there just beside the door - house could be called a half-cape. Front door must be closed to use the stairs. Is there any way to combine a new front porch (deck already there) and somehow expand the entrance a bit so this problem can be solved? Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks. /FS
