A few questions about replacing my gas meter

Hi Folks,

I'm hoping someone here can help me understand the process for replacing my gas meter. I need to replace it because my current meter doesn't provide enough BTUs to the house. I also need to move it becaue it's in the way of what will be my front door.

Questions:

1. I know the gas company moves and replaces the meter, but will they also connect it on the inside of the house?

2. If they don't do the inside work, what's the order of operations? Do I hire a plumber or HVAC guy to add piping from the new location to the old location before or after the gas line is moved?

3. The new meter uses a 1.25" line while the old one uses 1". Is it enough to "T" the line from the new meter to the legacy piping while leaving a branch for the remodeling that's coming.

Thanks! I know thee are basic questions and I appreciate your patience!
