Deck Roof?

So i'm adding a covered porch to the back of the house sometime this year. I got the deck part figured out but not sure on the roof. The house is a two story and it's basically just a blank slate (only the door and one window). My question is how are the joists and ridge board attached to the side of the house? I know they make brackets to hold them but surely they dont mount the plyboard behind the siding do they? I would think they would need a stud? but what if it dosent fall on a stud? Am I just overthinking it? I've added a picture of another house with a setup like mine. I've also circled in red the spots.

You have to Google some flashing and attachment details. I'd suggest the archives of The Journal of Light Construction or Fine Homebuilding.

I'm not sure of your question regarding the red circles.

The red just shows where I have my concern. Where the joist and ridge board attaches to the house.

The basic truss system that you are showing is similar to the one in the photo.

The ridge pole is set first. The ridge pole is the board that the trusses rest on. The number 1 truss is attached directly to the house first. It can be by using nails or screws and if it were built correctly. The nails or screws will be located on studs,

The siding is removed and the truss is fastened directly over the wood or sheathing. Once the roof construction is finished the flashing is installed and the trim is trimmed around the new roof.
