I am shopping for wet saw, and can save about $100 buy buing a factory refurbished one. I am also shopping for a few other top of line power tools. All refurbs I have looked at carry the same warrenty as new models. Anyone had experiences good or bad?

As long as there is a warranty that comes with the refurbished one no problems should come up.

Tho if you have A LOT of tiles to be cutting spend the extra $'s for a better quality wet saw. * it will the WORTH it's weight in gold!!*

I have a friend, a professional, who buys refubished when he can and has always had good experiences. My wife bought a refubished Cuisinart ice cream maker and it looks like new, works great.

When I started my remodeling biz, I bought a lot of factory warranteed refurbed power tools. I also bought some new ones. I've had to have three new ones repaired---none of the refurbs.

I just bought a factory refurb coffee maker---Braun---$60 my cost---new was $140. Sweet machine.

This computer is a refurb Dell---I'll never do that again---several problems. But, it was still about 1/4th the cost of a new one this size.

our fist washing machine dryer was a yellow sears kenmore refurb --replaced 15 years later by a NEW fancy Maytag Neptune that crapaed out pretty fast - but that's a whole other story. anyways the tile saw i am thinking about is a felker 75 same as what Lowes rents out around here. the refurb grinder tools I am looking at are are bosh & milwaukee.

Go for it---Felker is one of the top three saw brands---and I h8ave several Bosch and one Milwaukee refurbs.

We do refurb industrial equipment, and it has to pass the same testing as new. Make sure you get a warranty.

Kter,
Who is offering the refurbished pricing on the Felker TM-75? I know that Felker had a wave of inventory which needed a fastener replaced and so they offered such a deal *last* year but I haven't heard of anything current (and I keep my ear fairly close to that rail).
It's a fantastic little saw. I own one, along with a MK-101, a Target Tilematic and a Felker XL-Plus. The TM-75 does have some limitations however and they should be considered seriously before making the purchase. Firstly, I use my little 75 in a small mason's tub to contain over spray and make clean up easier. With a little bit of plastic sheeting to redirect the spray, I can usually set up my saw on a finished kitchen's island when installing backsplashes. But the motor housing is very close to the cutting table and it's sometimes difficult to get a hand in there to hand smaller cuts in place. Likewise, larger tiles don't fit well either.
The Felker FTS-150 is a little more expensive but it's a more versatile tool and will probably re-sell better if that's a route you'd like to consider. The ConstructionComplete.com website offers great pricing on wet saws and in some cases the shipping is free if going to a commercial location. I've been told that delivery to your local dry cleaners or flower shop (with their permission of course) qualifies as a "commercial location" for their shipping needs.
All that being said, if it's a genuine Felker refurbished offer, it's well worth taking. Felker/Target/Husqvarna/Electrolux is a great family of companies and their customer service has always been top-notch and I would trust them to honor such a warranty.
No need to spend the extra money on a Bosch or a Milwaukee grinder. The Makita 4.5" angle grinder is the most common among professionals that I've known. It's inexpensive, it's reliable and it's conveniently available. I own three Makitas, two Boschs, two Metabos, and an Alpha and I find that I reach for a Makita most often when packing up my truck.
Best of luck,
Shaughnn

Shaughnn- Actually it was Construction Complete- but I called them about it since I did not see refurbs on their web site. I ordered the refurb 75 for $209.

...also just ordered up a refurb Bosch angle grinder from CPO Bosch web site.
