Can I use SLC for this?

I'm going to reframe my basement stairs, which will entail some new support posts/walls. 1920 house, so basement is low-overhead, trenched around walls to divert the inevitable water, and floor is slanted towards a corner drain.

With the support walls/posts, I need to (1) account for the slope in the floor and (2) keep the wood off the floor a tad to protect from water.

Can I just box out an area on the floor the size of a post or stud base plate and pour in self-leveling compound? So the support wall/posts would be raised up on little concrete beds?

SLC isn't strong enough. It would crumble out from under the posts.

You need those post holders with bolts. Commonly used to hold arbor posts and deck supports.

As for adjusting, you may end up having to cut the posts different lengths and maybe at angles to make everything level.

Do you know how thick your slab is? Could you use these directly into the slap, then bolt onto PT wood, or similar?
