Question about front door installation estimate

Hello everyone,
We are in the process of replacing the front door of our house. Currently, the house only has a storm door. The front of the house is actually an enclosed patio, leading to the house's original front door off of the living room. We have received two estimates, one from Home Depot for the door itself, and the other from a reputable local contractor in Rhode Island. The door entry is an odd size (it is an older house): 32x78. This led Home Depot to ask for $1000 for a 'custom order' door that was a plain steel door with a 2x3 rectangle of square glass windows at the top (craftsman-style). We balked at this price and decided to shop around.

We contacted the contractor, who agreed with the size of the door, but complained about the quality of Home Depot's doors and stated that ThermaTru's 'Smooth Star' line, though their entry-level line, was far better than the Therma-Tru doors sold by Lowe's/Home Depot. Anyways, he came back with an estimate today of $1100 for the door (identical in appearance to the HD one, but made by Therma-Tru) and $650 for labor, for a grand total of $1750.

Does this seem like a fair price to you all for a new front door, or should I get additional estimates? This is the main door to our house, and I want it to be both good quality and very secure, even if that means paying a bit more.

Thanks for any and all advice!
