This was the before. I could not wait to get rid of the dark colors and the house just looked so 1980's to me.

That looks great! It is amazing how much better your window trim looks and so easy to get rid of the "tudor" look.

That small amount of vinyl should be easy to maintain and look good for many years.

We also had the fake Tudor look on the front of our 1950s garrison colonial. Plus brick. And cedar shingles. Never mind the fact that is was painted olive drab army green. It looked like such a mishmash and so out of place. We went with vinyl siding as well and have been thrilled with our decision.

I hated the dark brown aluminum trim that the vinyl window replacement company had used.

The company that did our vinyl sided had a guy that was an "aluminum bending artist"! Our windows are not trimmed with fluted columns; he did an incredible job. It was a ton of labor considering we have 25+ windows in our house.

Not sure if you can see it, but there is also dental molding at the roof line (our salesman's idea).

Looks great. I love the color choice. I have been on the shutter kick because I'm looking to replace mine and I starting wondering how your house would look with shutters above the front door (in a dark color that matches the front door). Well, here you go. I don't think it looks bad but I'm not sure if putting shutters on just one window is normal.. oh well. Enjoy.
