perforated soffits vs hidden vents when changing gutters?

I just posted a separate question on siding choices. This question is about choosing between the perforated soffit and the hidden vent soffit. The hidden one of course looks better and is more expensive but I was wondering about the adequacy of air flow since the holes are obviously less than the perforated sort. What choice did you/would you choose?

The supplier should have the specs on the soffit's net free intake area per sf. ft. Be sure the total soffit intake is higher than that of the ridge or roof vents.
