Floor Leveling Question

I'm about to put down a second layer of plywood on the kitchen floor to make the overall thickness 1 1/4" (5/8 * 2). This is in preparation for tile...

While the floor seems to be quite level in most areas, it is not right where a 4 x 4 support post rests on the floor. At that spot, on all 4 sides, it is depressed to about 3/16 of an inch. This depression only spreads outward from this post a few inches. And although this spot will be under a counter overhang, I'd like to address it properly.

Self-leveling compound would seem to be overkill for something like this as the space is so small. A handful of sand there, sandwiched between the plywood, would seem to do the trick. I don't know, just speculating...

Thoughts?

Thanks much.

Oh, here is a short video (less than a minute) showing the situation...
