It usualy has more to do with price than brand name. Going for functional features rather than gingerbread gives more bang for the buck.
I have 2 plain all white fans I paid about $150 each at lowes 12 years ago. They are on more than 25% of the time and are working great without doing anything but dust them. The only thing out of the ordinary I did was blue loc-tight on screws while assembling. A common mistake hanging fans is atempting to make them tight to prevent wobble. Will not work. The fan must be able to move freely. Most fans rock a little on startup and when air current from open doors effect them. If the fan can swing freely,it will settle after a few seconds. If it is too tight,it will bounce/rebound and make it worse.

I am researching this too as I need four fans for my remodel. I went to my local Chandelier store and they recommended three brands: Quorom, Minka-Aire and Kichler. Quorom has the most diverse selection and I obtained a Product Catalog for 2013/2014.

On-line .... these are very affordable and much better looking than anything I saw at Home Depot or Lowes. I plan on spending $150 / $300 to get what I want and Quorom seems to offer these.

I hope Quorom fans are reliable and good quality because that is what I'm ordering.
