Did you sign off on a work order? Is so, it should have indicated new or reused materials. But if nothing is documented and it's bugging you, I'd just give them a call and say you noticed the charge and you were under the impression they had reused material you had on site. It's a legitimate question about something you are paying for.

Didn't sign anything. No before job estimate, and the invoice with list of materials and labor was sent by mail later which is the norm for this company. Never questioned them before in all these years. Maybe I'm becoming suspicious in my old age, but I think I will call. And he had to come back on a follow-up call because I noticed a possible problem with the pressure gauge on the pump i.e. lots of condensation and a bit of water inside the gauge itself. At that time he put on a new gauge but if he told me why I forget. :(

Want to hear something else? I've had this gauge replaced twice before over the years, in fact two older ones were sitting on the ledge above the pump. I pointed those out to him the day before jokingly calling them my collection. He said "Oh I'll just get rid of those for you". Wouldn't it be easy to just use the same gauge and then charge me for a new one? How would I know for sure since he didn't leave the one he took off? lol maybe I watch too many reality shows. Better not bring that up if I call or I may never see them again when I need them.
