What to do with a strange loft space???

We have just purchased a house and have a dilemma of what to do with a wasted space. The previous owners wanted a vaulted ceiling in their bedroom so they went up into the attic, and ended up with this. Access is via a ladder on the side. There are bookshelves up there and one swings out to give access to the attic (secret passage!!). Unfortunately the space is only 5' in height so you can't stand up straight. What on earth can we do with this space? Any ideas are VERY welcome!!!!

It's hard to tell how deep the loft space is. Can you move the lower wall back so it is even with the back of the loft making the bedroom a couple of feet larger and thereby eliminating the loft area altogether?

Um. Hmm! I'm not sure I can tell what's going on. Like you said, strange! More photos might help (or they might not--that's weird!) =P

We also purchased a home with some downright weird spaces. I'd use it for storage. Yours is weirder than ours! OMG!

We were amazed that there was a door in the closet that went to a small room (no standing up straight) with a window and a door to a view deck, and a door to attic storage.

Our weird place will have a cot and lots of toys for the Grand Kids. Yours is really weird.

Our builder lost the house to drugs. It's how I explain the weirdness.........
