 o
cottage facelift / curb appeal

We inherited this beautiful cottage on a hillside from my husband's grandfather (who built it by hand over 50 years ago). As new owners, I'd like to give it a facelift. It needs a lot of work and I'm looking for ANY ideas to help the curb appeal.

I want to extend the whiteboard siding to the left side of the house and add shutters. The porch needs to be redone completely (underneath the porch is a basement). But I want a front porch.

Any suggestions on how to make this old house a cute, up-to-date looking cottage?
