Hello, the GC was here yesterday to go over a few things and I asked him how/where the ventilation was going to go. He looked and looked and finally said he didn't think it would work and that I have to do a downdraft instead. This is a remodel and I am moving the cooktop from in front of a window to the wall about 6 feet away. It's only 6 feet from the outside and I just feel like there must be some way to do this. I want a hood not a downdraft. If I have to do a downdraft I think it would look bad as well as not vent as well. There would be cabinets above which I image would get really dirty over time. Of course he is the professional and I don't know anything about it, but it just seems to me that there should be a way to do it. What should I do?
