Please help me decide on this design issue.
Should I keep the black baluster design for the basement stairway? I am thinking of changing to more modern balusters. Feel free to post examples of designs for basement balusters.

Basement stairway is gutted out and will have hardwood steps, white risers, and wood railings. The basement will have a modern design with light colored tile.

Railings on first floor and 2nd floor are more traditional (see pic).

I don't think you have to. Basements can be less formal/fancy than the rest of the house. If your Basement lives more formally, then you can keep the same design. But, if it lives more basement-y (ie, it isn't a walk out; it doesn't have high ceilings, etc), less formal is fine.

Hi Kirkhall. Basement will be more modern/informal. However, it does have high 9" ceilings and has a walkout with no view.

Change it up. Feel free to do so. :)
