Small things that get forgotten ext.

I was reading hints and tips in another post that people were giving great ideas about "little things" that they've learned to include in remodels or when the build again such as 4 plug outlets on each side of the bed, light switches outside of closets, electric outlets inside of closets and other great hints and helpful tips.
The post had reached its maximum number of replies, and I had on that I felt should be included for the southern states. I also I figured there are probably more great ideas and wanted to keep the post alive:
We live on the outer banks of North Carolina, so we are fortunate to have about 9 months of year round warm weather. The ONE thing that I wouldn't ever do without is an outside shower! I've had the last two houses built with an outside enclosed 4'x8' shower stall.

For the garbage disposal in our kitchen we have a button on the counter next to the sink instead of a switch on the wall - I love it.

Also in a kitchen, I recommend adding a second prep sink if you have room. It's great when there is more than one person in the kitchen at a time.

For a list of the bigger things in a remodel not to be overlooked, here's a nice checklist
