floor tile size vs wall tile size

i have 6x6 existing floor tiles in my bathroom and plan on adding a tiled shower. would it be okay to use a larger tile on the wall then is currently on the floor?

my bathroom is 8x8.thinking of using 12x12 tiles would those dimensions look odd??

Suit yourself. There are no hard and fast rules.

The only "rule" is, is that new tile is likely to make old tile look old, used, and "wrong" in many people's eyes. ;)

Less grout joints with 12x12, maybe less busy
