range hood vent - predicament!

I'm in the process of a kitchen remodel. Currently I do not have a vented range hood, so of course that is a priority. The range is on an outside wall, so I thought venting directly through the wall would be a breeze.

Bad news: there is a stud smack in the middle of the range location. I have not yet purchased a hood (under cabinet), so I can play around with venting options (rear or top).

As I see it, I have 3 options.

1. Move the range 6 inches or so one way or the other. I'm having cabinets custom built (starting in June), so this is still possible.

2. Vent the hood through the cabinet with a couple of elbows, going around the stud.

3. Cut into the wall, cut out the stud, and frame around the opening.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Recommendations?

Thanks!
