Should I use this for a metal roof

We are rehabbing a small house with a simple gable roof. It's in decent condition, shows no signs of leaking from the attic, but has 2 layers of shingles, and will need to be replaced at some point, farther down the list. I've been toying with the idea of putting a metal roof on, when the time comes.

Then today, on CL, I see someone selling "reclaimed" R-panel in the color that we'd need (brown, would match the trim on the house, which has yellow vinyl siding).

The panels are 3' wide and 27' long, which is sufficiently long, and he's got enough sheets for our house roof, and potentially for a future garage roof.

I haven't had time to research how to install the stuff, and need to jump on this quickly if it makes sense. We have a place to store it until we get to it. Any reason not to? Any inherent problems with recycled siding/roofing?
