retrofit flared eaves to hip roof remodel

Anyone out there have any experience or plans for sistering in jack rafters to a standard hip roof to create flared eaves? I'm widening my eaves from 1 foot to 3 feet since I need to do a complete roof tearoff & want to turn my foursquare into a prairie box with curn appeal.

If you can keep the existing soffit height and just extend lookouts followed by scabbed rafter tails, it's pretty simple. If the soffit will be lowered, it's more work and material, as it impacts the siding, and you can't use the existing framing as a starting/anchoring point.
Use screws like Spax or Timberlocks.
