| I'm open for ideas on how to finish a wood ceiling I'm putting up. It's 19ft high cath. ceiling that I'm putting pine 1x6 TG. up on (1300+ sq.ft). Some freinds say stain and urathane it and then put it up other say put it up then stain and urathane. Any pros and cons to either. I think it would be easyer to do after I put it up so I don't scratch up finish, end saw cuts would be stained and there would be no stain/urath. getting in tongue or groove to make it difficult to go togther. If anyone has finished a wood ceiling I would love to hear from you. |

| I would at least stain before I put it up. Making sure to get the tongue and grove so that when they shrink you don't have unstained lines. I would also keep the can of stain by the saw to do each of the cuts before installing. At least that's how I did the last 3000sqf of ceiling I installed. |
