We were walking our new remodel with a woodworker for his ideas, and he suggested putting a strip of cedar in each closet, instead of doing the whole thing. He said it works just as well.

Yesterday was demo day, and I roamed the house taking photos. Much to my surprise, I found a linen closet already has these strips.

I hope this helps someone here who didn't know about this tip.
