Good link from kirkhall...yes, there a myriad of paint/stain combos. :)And I always do what appeals to me... :) Of course my little cottage is not for sale so I happily paint away. I can imagine your forest setting JMarie67. And dark tones would evoke a more woodland style (IMHO) :)

We're on a heavily-wooded lot, and I learned the hard way -- well, I learned, Hubby did the hard way part ;-) that light colors just don't work well in shady lots. Stick with the darker wood tones if you can stand them, and work with them.
