| We are creating a huge granite (volga blue) kitchen island (4'x9'2") but the problem is supporting the open part of the island.
Here is a picture to get an idea of the shape/size:
So, the bulk of the island (4'+ x 7') is being supported by a single pedestal but with all that granite, what should I be using as a supporting base ? I just don't think 3/4 wood would cut it. What about 3/8" or 1/2" steel plate that would run the entire 4'x9' ? Any suggestions would be welcome. Neil |
