Material of Shutters w/ Hardie siding

Hello I have not been on this website since I remodeled my kitchen almost 3 years ago. We are renovating our home from a cape to a colonial style home. I wanted to know what people would recommend for material of shutters with Hardie plank siding. Would If I used Vinyl siding I would choose Vinyl shutters.. but I am not sure they will go well with Hardie. We are doing 8.25 white smooth planks with a 7 inch exposure and dark green shutters. Thank you!

I'm a fan of operational shutters with hardware, so my vote is wood or composite shutters. Here's a link that may be helpful:
