You could have cabinets custom made to any measurements, designed around the sink/fridge you want to use.

standard-depth cabinetry is 24" deep. So you have room for that and more. Are you saying you want cabinets that are deeper than standard? If so, a custom cabinetmaker can easily build you what you want.

Thanks so much for your quick replies. The idea of custom sized cabinets in a good one. We were picturing an L-shaped bar/peninsula that had the sink looking into the room rather than against a wall. We do need to leave space behind the bar to get in. So given the space is 4'3" deep, and allowing for say 3 feet to walk behind the bar (unless we can get away with less than 3 feet), that only leaves 1'3" for the bar on one side (we can borrow a bit of space for the stools), but the bar unit should stay within the jut in. We would have to place the fridge on the other part of the L.

We are not big drinkers so this space is more of a snack bar and socializing spot. I also picture my young daughter using the bar space to play restaurant.
