XPost. Can I fit a laundry here?

Is it possible to fit a very tiny laundry/mudroom in a space that currently measures 54" (baseboard-to-baseboard, floor) by 126"? This narrow rectangular space lies between a secondary entrance and a kitchen. It is currently a 3/4 bath but would be a useful spot for a family landing zone & laundry. Can anyone with ideas for floorplans please post? Or if you've renovated, please share pics.

Edited to add: This laundry should not contain stackable units, rather large capacity top loaders.

A floor plan showing the entrances, exits, windows, adjacent rooms, and access to water and possible venting for the dryer would help. As would information as to whether or not you are crawlspace or slab foundation. In general, it sounds as though you have the room for the laundry, but maybe not the laundry and a major passageway. However, you will need to alter plumbing and electrical to do this, plus get the permit for that. Costs to do that will depend on location and the answers to the questions above.

BTW, high capacity stacked front loaders will give you better laundry results and more room for maybe adding in a laundry sink.

just measured the depth of our LG top loaders and they are 33" from the wall max with about 4" space behind for pipes and ducts. That would only leave you 21" aisle to scoot by (using the 54" width), too narrow. You really need a 36" aisle for it to work.

Our laundry area is just inside the back door in a space 85" long and 67" wide.

We installed a stackable regular sized front loader washer/dryer pair because the back door would hit the dryer front if the washer/dryer were side by side.

The pair needs 33" from the wall, leaving 34" of hallway width. 13" less hall width would be a problem.

This is the second front loader we have had and I much prefer that configuration to side by side. A front loading washer uses about 1/4 of the water needed by a top loader and is much easier on the clothes.

We need a layout of the space from you to be constructive here. It might be possible with a stacked set. But, that really depends on entrances/exits from the space (windows) etc.

No phone with a camera? I run linux and can post pics, and apple isn't that different. Use picasaweb or similar site and you'll be fine.

The dimensions you posted aren't helpful because they don't provide information about the location of doors/windows.
