I thought I would post and see if anyone has any experience or opinions on my countertop support. I am looking at getting a thinkGlass 1 1/2 think glass counter top. I will be utilizing standoffs to support/raise the countertop 6" off the 2 24" base cabinets. There is currently 48" for the glass countertop to 'sit' inbetween these cabinets. Now my question: any idea how much I need to extend the glass over the 24" cabinets to secure it. The standoffs (bolts) are about a 2" piece. would an additional 6" on either side provide the proper length? estimated weight of the glass countertop is 240 pounds. thanks for any thoughts on your experience.
