From the little I know, laminate and wet prone areas are a recipe for disaster but.........

Consider this angle. Using snap together flooring means there are spaces between each piece. Most flooring manufacturers require glue to assemble and install laminate flooring.

In my experience, using a product that is moisture resistant(like vinyl) means there is little chance of the flooring swelling or delaminating because of water intrusion from a spill or snow covered feet.

I will just say we are trhilled with our lvt install of wood look planks in our basement. It handled the slope of the floor to the drains, two rough kids playing hockey on it, and rain coming in from the foundation, and snow and salt off our shoes. Really happy with the practicalities and look of the product.

kats, what brand of flooring did you install?

Hi, it was Congoleum endurance plank. We liked it because it came in the most narrow strips and was a beveled edge. People think that it is laminate, which is fine by me.
