I am planning a kitchen remodel. The space will have a huge island. I was wondering how come islands never or rarely seem to have both a range and a sink? Is this some sort of design faux pas?

The way I have it designed currently the sink and stovetop are both on the island and three feet from each other with the dishwasher directly on the right of the sink. Across from the stove on the wall behind it(4 ft distance) is the fridge. Three of the walls in the space have floor to ceiling windows and can't be used for counter or cabinets so I am relying on the island to hold much of the storage and countertop.

Is there a reason this wouldn't work?
