I'm thinking about giving four friends a small dinner box for an early Christmas gift...perhaps a quart of homemade soup, small loaf of crusty bread or rolls, tossed salad, and two slices of cheesecake...a fuss-free dinner for themselves & DHs during a busy season.

Can you suggest a fail safe soup I can make a day in advance, cool, & pkg in quart jars; something that keep well so they can reheat in a day or two?
