LOOKING for: Prune & Cheese Danish

Posted by party_music50 (My Page) on

Does anyone have a T&T recipe for 'prune & cheese' danish?! They were available from bakeries when I was a kid, but I haven't seen any in years. I've never stumbled onto a recipe for them either. I remember them being a basic sweet dough, shaped and then topped (sort of in layers) w/ a cheese filling, then prune filling, and a drizzle of frosting. Sound familiar to anyone?

Surprisingly not many on the net. Found this one (linked below)

For Kolaches I use this prune filling
30 prunes covered with water & simmered til tender, covered.
Mash & stir in 1/4 c. sugar + 1/4 tsp. allspice. Filling should be thick.

It might work for Danish.

Here is a link that might be useful: Danish Pastry
