RECIPE: Turnip burgers!!!

I know this doesn't sound good, but it is. Mom made it all the time in the fall when we had too many turnips. The kids like it too.

Basically you grate up fresh turnip and add it along with just a little bit of grated onion and add it to lean ground beef to make it go further and use up some turnips. You can use up to 1/2 turnip and 1/2 lean beef and it still tastes good. Then instead of frying your burgers, bake them on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees until they're done so that they don't fall apart.

You can make about 6 good sized burgers from a lb of lean ground beef. If you use the fatter stuff, it really doesn't work as good because they shrink up too much, so make them thinner and bigger if you use cheaper hamburger.
